2008 Fall League

Mission Statement

Welcome to Ken Berry's Fall League season. We are happy to have your team play in our League this season.

We ask that all coaches, parents and players conduct themselves in the spirit of sportsmanship, ethics and fair play.

Ken Berry Rules will apply to the Fall Season.  For Minor (11-12 year old boys) and Major (13-14 year old boys) the National Rules will apply.  For the High School Division – KSHSAA and ASA rules will apply.

Each team must supply their own score book.  There will be a league score book provided for the official book.  Home team will keep the official scorebook along with their team book.  Visiting team will operate the score board and keep their scorebook.

We ask that there be no soft toss against fences and backstops.  No pets are allowed at the complex.  No outside food or drink is to be brought in.  We have a full concession stand available.  Players may bring in a water bottle.

Next, this League is run by volunteers. Several will be here every weekend to assist in the smooth running of the League and games. If there is an issue, please seek them out and talk with them in a reasonable manner.

Similarly, umpires are to be treated respectfully. While they are paid to call games, they are not paid to be berated. Balls/strikes and safes/outs are judgment calls. Please do not argue them. Do not have your players argue them, and please tell your parents to not argue them. Rule interpretations can be discussed with an umpire. Only the manager can approach an umpire after calling time to discuss a rule interpretation. Please tell parents and fans to enjoy the players playing and not become part of the action. They should "spectate" not participate. Will umpires make mistake? You bet they will. Just like players, coaches and parents make mistakes. Most of our umpires are high school and college students, or they are adults who love the game and kids. They try to make the right calls every time, but they will make mistakes.

Thank you for playing in our Fall League. We hope you, your players and parents have an enjoyable experience.
