Softball Division Rules
Girls Power League - Ages 15-18
Highlighted portions indicate a change in the rules for 2010.
This division is for teams that are registered in Class A of high B with any softball organization such as ASA, USSSA, or AFA.
The season includes 12 league games. There will not be a post-season tournament.
Teams will register with a team fee. There is NO draft in the Power League.
KSHSAA Rules will govern all play, except as noted in General Rules and herein:
1. Seven innings or one hour and 20 minutes shall constitute a complete game.
If the game is called due to rain, darkness, or other cause which makes further play impossible, a game shall be considered complete provided 5 innings have been played or 4 ½ innings have been played if the home team is ahead.
2. Only 9 runs will be allowed per half inning.
3. Only the team manager may consult the umpires, players, sponsors and other coaches are to keep out of discussions.
4. Roster batting will be allowed if you so choose.
5. Courtesy runners for the pitcher and catcher will be allowed if you so choose.
6. Age exceptions for younger teams may be allowed by League Officials.
7. All teams will be reviewed by League Officials who will determine if the team will be allowed to compete in the Power League.
8. Base length will be 60 feet. Pitching distance will be 43 feet in accordance with ASA rule change beginning with the 2010 season which KSHSAA will follow.
9. The Power League Division Rules will supersede any conflicting General Rules.
