SOFTBALL RULES
- The Ken Berry property is a smoke-free environment.
- Amateur Softball Association (ASA) rules & regulations apply except as follows.
- Teams will need to supply one new and one good ASA .47 optic yellow leather softball for each game.
- 11" softball for 8U and 10U.
- 12" softball for 12U, 14U and 16U.
- Continuous batting lineups will be used.
- Ejections: A player ejection will result in the team losing that player for the entire game. Her spot in the batting order WILL be an automatic out. A coach ejection will be for the remainder of that game and the next game.
- Seven runs per inning maximum – exception: a home run over the fence, then all runs will count.
- Courtesy runners for pitchers and catchers can be used, but they must be the player furthest from the current batter who is not currently on base.
- Pitching: No pitching restrictions.
- Coin toss shall determine home team and the home team must supply the official scorekeeper and visiting team will run the scoreboard.
- NO infield practice will be allowed.
- NO practice on any complex field.
- Time limit for all games is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Time begins after the 1st warm-up pitch. Time limit could change in case of tournament interruptions. All teams should be prepared to start their game up to 10 minutes early in case we are ahead of schedule. (This will help the tournament keep on time)
- Regulation games are defined by the type of game that it is.
- Pool play: Games will be 7 innings or time limit. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, only 1 international tiebreaker inning will be played.
- Bracket Play: Games will be 7 innings or time limit. Games that are tied at the end of regulation will use the ITB rule until a winner is declared.
- Run rule:
- 15 runs after 3 innings (2 ½ if the home team is ahead).
- 12 runs after 4 innings (3 ½ if the home team is ahead).
- 8 runs after 5 innings (4 ½ if the home team is ahead).
- Batters are not allowed to step out of the batters box between pitches. One foot needs to be left in while taking signals.
- The following procedure will be used to determine the seedings after pool play:
i. If three or more teams are tied with the same record in a division, head-to-head may or may not be used to break ties.
ii. Once a level of tie-breaker is used, we DO NOT revert back to any steps of the tie-breaking procedure. We will continue on down the list until all ties are broken.
- Highest Winning Percentage (number of wins divided by number of games with a result (ties eliminated form formula))
- Most Wins
- Head-to-Head Games
- Runs allowed per game
- Coin Flip
- Teams need to have Proof of Insurance with them.
- No protests allowed.
- Anything not covered in the rules above will be determined by the Tournament Director and/or their designees.
- A fully stocked concession stand will be available during the tournament. NO OUTSIDE FOOD may be brought into the complex. Water bottles may be used for the players.
- ADMISSION FEE: $3.00 per day OR $5.00 for a weekend pass. The admission fee is for anyone 16 years of age and older.
- Refund policy: NO money will be refunded once the brackets are drawn. 100% will be refunded if the tournament is cancelled. 50% will be refunded if only one game is played. No refunds if two or more games are played.

BASEBALL RULES
- Ken Berry Complex is located at 61st & Wanamaker.
- Kansas State High School Athletic Association (KSHSAA) rules & regulations apply except as follows.
- Run Limit: A maximum of 7 runs per inning is allowed. Exception: A home run over the fence, then all runs will count.
- 8 & Under ONLY: A base runner may not lead-off before the ball crosses the plate.
- Hitters:
- Continuous batting lineups shall be used.
- Courtesy runners for pitchers and catchers can be used, but they must be the last player to make an out.
- Pitching:
- 8 & Under – A pitcher may pitch up to 3 innings per game. One pitch in an inning constitutes a full inning for the purposes of this rule.
- 10 & Under --- A pitcher may pitch up to 4 innings per game. One pitch in an inning constitutes a full inning for purposes of this rule.
- 10 & Under – Balks may be called by the umpires, but the balk will only result in a "No Pitch". No runners my advance or be called out because of a balk.
- 12 & Under, 14 & Under —No pitching restrictions.
- A coin toss shall determine home team and the home team must supply the official scorekeeper and visiting team shall run the scoreboard.

- Seven (7) inning maximum per game. 1 hour and 50 minute time limit, no new inning will start after 1 hour and 45 minutes. This is to keep the tournament on time.
- Run Rule:
- 15 runs after 3 innings (2 ½ if the home team is ahead).
- 10 runs after 5 innings (4 ½ if the home team is ahead).
- Batters are not allowed to step out of the batters box. One foot needs to be left in while taking signals.
- Pitchers will be allowed a maximum of 5 warm-up pitches per inning.
- If time has expired and the game is tied each team will be awarded a win.
- Teams will need to supply one new and one good baseball for each game. 8U, 10U and 12U Little League or equivalent shall be used. 14U and 16U Kansas High School or equivalent shall be used.
- Tie Breakers: In case two or more teams have identical records at the end of pool play the tie breakers are as follows:
- Head to Head
- Least runs allowed in pool play (all games)
- Coin flip
- Teams need to have Proof of Insurance with them.
