A manager is allowed to protect ten (10) players; remaining vacancies will be filed through the draft.
Players drafted to a team will remain on the roster until that team moves to the next division. If a player does not wish to remain with her team, she may request a release, in writing, from the SYAA Board of Directors by September 1 stating her reason (s) for the request. A released player will be placed into the player draft pool.
If a protected player is released from a team, that position may be filled by any eligible player the manager chooses to protect. Any draft positions opened by released players will be filled through the draft.
A player may request to play with their grade as opposed to the January 1 age cutoff. (Older 9th graders may request to play in the Majorette division). To do so you must pre-register and notify your division representative by the pre-registration deadline.
